Spend July in Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Decked-Out Former Hamptons Mansion for $1M
Whether you’re “Crazy in Love” or getting together with your “Single Ladies,” this lavish Bridgehampton mansion might very well be the perfect summer escape. Queen Bey and Jay-Z, perhaps in happier times, rented the home known as the Sandcastle in 2012, and it’s now being offered for the month of July (h/t LL NYC). The steep $1 million price tag will get you 12 bedrooms, a huge heated pool, a full bar and disco area, and a spa complete with a sauna and massage area. And if you like to keep active, there’s a bowling alley, virtual golf, rock climbing wall, sunken Olympic-sized tennis court, racket ball court and a skateboard half pipe.
Built in 2009, the 31,000-square-foot estate sits on 11.5 acres.
In addition to the three-level main house, there’s a unique recreation pavilion and a pool/guest house that has its own smaller pool and a bar. The 60′ x 20′ heated gunite pool has an electric cover and an underwater stereo.
Enter the home through a grand, double-height foyer with Bordeaux walnut floors with radiant heat and decorative plaster ceilings. Behind the foyer is the double living room with two fireplace, coffered ceilings, and dripping chandeliers. In a separate wing off the living room is the walnut library, 10-seat theater with interactive seats, and an office.
The formal dining room has more decorative plaster work, another fireplace, elegant panel moldings, and an impressive crystal chandelier. The kitchen offers even more seating, with an eight-seat table and breakfast bar. It also has a butler’s pantry and walk-in refrigerator.
Upstairs is the enormous, 2,800-square-foot master suite, which has a honey onyx master bath, gilded, barrel-vaulted dressing area, and separate sitting area. This floor also has eight additional en-suite bedrooms, a wet bar, and a separate apartment with two bedrooms.
The lower level is where the fun happens. There’s a children’s entertainment area, gym, virtual golf, skateboard half pipe, rock climbing wall, squash and racket ball court, two-lane bowling alley, and media room with five plasma televisions.
This level also boasts a spa, complete with a Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and massage tables, as well as a garage with a hydraulic lift.
Four years ago, Beyoncé and Jay-Z dropped $400,000 to spend the month of August in the residence, and they loved it so much they even filmed a music video there. If you can’t afford the $1 million for July, there’s also the option to rent for two weeks for $550,000
